Job summary

Life Services Group is seeking a Funeral Service Specialist (Level One) in Swindon to lead day-to-day branch operations, support families and manage ceremonial duties. The role involves training for Funeral Plans, on-call responsibilities and close teamwork with local suppliers and communities.

The position offers a 38.33-hour week with on-call duties, a salary of £26,708.34 per annum, and a pathway to professional development within our end-of-life care teams.

Qualifications

• Empathetic and well-organised; able to support families during difficult times.
• Experience in customer service, care or admin is beneficial with full training provided.
• Strong communication, organisation and administrative skills, confident with legal paperwork.
• Willing to work weekends/on-call when needed; Full UK Driving Licence desirable (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Support families with empathy, professionalism and attention to detail.
• Arrange funerals that meet family wishes with clarity, compassion and legal compliance.
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations, including administration and presentation.
• Build relationships with suppliers, care homes and local community groups.
• Lead chapel visits as required to support family requests.
• Raise awareness of funeral plans and contribute to plan sales within the branch.
• Train in Funeral Conducting to assist with ceremonial duties during peak times.
