Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in Dumbarton seeks a full-time Funeralcare Assistant to support families, arrange visits, and ensure a respectful, welcoming funeral home environment. Training is provided, with a competitive salary and pension.

You will travel to meet clients, handle inquiries, and assist with care of the deceased under health and safety standards. The role requires a full UK driving licence, good communication, numeracy, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Comfortable working alone or managing a branch when needed.
• Strong communication, written and verbal.
• Numerical tasks including cash handling and invoicing.

Responsibilities

• Travel to meet clients and build relationships in the community.
• Support clients in person and by phone, coordinating family visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe and welcoming; report maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work, such as funeral plans, to the Funeral Plan Arrangers team.
• Assist in the care and preparation of the deceased within health and safety guidelines.
• Update client management apps with accurate records.
