Pertemps Specialist Division is recruiting a Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Maths and English to learners aged 14-19 in Oxford's alternative provision. This flexible, self-employed role offers an immediate start and a 12-month horizon.
You will teach Entry Level to Level 2 Functional Skills, plan personalised lessons, identify gaps, and adapt to learners with EHCPs to help them achieve qualifications and progress.
Location: Oxford
Hours: 15-20 hours per week (4 days per week)
Rate: £23.50 per hour + 10% preparation and administration allowance

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Functional Skills Tutor to deliver engaging Maths and English sessions to learners aged 14-19, many of whom have EHCPs and additional learning needs. The role offers the chance to make a genuine impact by helping learners build confidence, achieve qualifications, and progress towards positive outcomes.
You will deliver Functional Skills Maths and English at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2 through a combination of one-to-one and small group sessions. The successful candidate will be able to engage learners who may have previously faced barriers to education, adapting their approach to meet individual learning needs and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Please also note that this position is offered on a self-employed basis.
The successful candidate will be required to invoice the company directly for the hours worked, and payment will be made against submitted invoices in accordance with the agreed terms.
