Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd in Oxford is seeking a part-time Functional Skills Tutor (Maths & English) to deliver sessions to learners aged 14-19 in an alternative provision setting. You will work 15-20 hours per week across four days, with an immediate start available.

The role offers £23.50 per hour plus a 10% preparation and administration allowance, with responsibilities including planning engaging lessons, tracking progress and helping students achieve qualifications while supporting EHCPs and

Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification: AET, PTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year teaching Maths and/or English.
• Experience in education, training, further education or alternative provision settings.
• Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Functional Skills Maths and/or English sessions.
• Identify learner strengths, gaps in knowledge and barriers to learning.
• Plan and deliver personalised learning programmes.
• Support learners to achieve and exceed their targets.
• Develop learning resources and assessment materials.
• Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct regular reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote safeguarding and learner wellbeing at all times.
• Contribute to positive learner engagement and attendance.
