Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a Functional Skills Maths Tutor in Towcester, Northamptonshire. The role is temp-to-perm in an Alternative Provision setting, delivering Maths sessions to students who may have struggled in mainstream education.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching Functional Skills or GCSE Maths, with a patient, engaging approach and the ability to adapt lessons. Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not offered.

The organisation already operates two established and successful sites and is now expanding its provision into Towcester.This is an exciting opportunity to join the setting during its next stage of development and play an important role in helping young people re-engage with education, develop their confidence and achieve meaningful qualifications.

The Role

As a Functional Skills Maths Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Maths sessions to students who may have previously found traditional education challenging. You will support students to develop their numeracy skills and work towards appropriate Functional Skills qualifications, adapting your teaching to meet individual abilities and needs.The successful candidate will ideally have experience teaching Functional Skills Maths, GCSE Maths or Maths within an Alternative Provision, SEN or similar setting.You will need to be confident adapting lessons, breaking concepts down into manageable steps and building positive relationships with students. Experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH, challenging behaviour or gaps in education would be highly desirable.
