Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a motivated Functional Skills English Tutor to join our team on a centre-based, full-time basis. You will deliver English instruction up to Level 2, using existing resources and developing your own materials when required, in a classroom setting.

You will engage learners with energetic delivery, provide guidance on progression, and support individuals to achieve their career goals while upholding Equality, Diversity and Safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 5 Teaching qualification or higher (e.g. CertEd/DTLLS/PGCE).
• Experience delivering Functional Skills English.
• Must hold own Level 2 English qualification.
• Experience delivering training to small groups of learners.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrate confidence, tenacity and ability to work on own initiative.
• Energetic and passionate about motivating and training clients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills English, within a classroom environment (up to Level 2).
• Utilise existing delivery resources, as well as preparing own when required.
• Deliver engaging training sessions and provide ongoing IAG to learners.
• Be flexible with delivery methods, providing differentiation and adapt to learners' needs.
• Assist learners in identifying the skills required to progress towards their career aspirations.
• Be engaging and able to demonstrate energy and passion to motivate/train clients.

Duties

• Deliver Functional Skills English, within a classroom environment (up to Level 2).
• Utilise existing delivery resources, as well as preparing own when required.
• Deliver engaging training sessions and provide ongoing IAG to learners.
• The successful candidate will be flexible with their delivery methods, providing differentiation and be able to adapt quickly to learners needs.
• Assist learners in identifying the skills required to progress towards their career aspirations.
• The successful candidate must be engaging and able to demonstrate energy and passion to motivate / train clients in order to help learners realise their potential.
• Promote Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

Essential Criteria

• Must hold a Level 5 Teaching qualification, or above (e.g. CertEd/DTLLS/PGCE)
• Experience of delivering Functional Skills English
• Must hold own Level 2 qualification in English.
• Must have experience of delivering training to small groups of learners
• Demonstrable energy and passion to motivate and train clients.
