Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Functional Skills English Tutor to join our centre-based team. The role involves delivering Functional Skills English up to Level 2 in a classroom setting and using existing resources while also preparing your own materials.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching small groups, hold a Level 3 English qualification, and be willing to work toward a Level 5 Teaching qualification.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Functional Skills English.
• Own Level 3 qualification in English.
• Experience delivering training to small groups.
• Willing to work towards Level 5 Teaching qualification.
• Energetic, confident and able to motivate learners.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills English in a classroom setting (up to Level 2).
• Utilise existing delivery resources and prepare own materials when required.
• Deliver engaging training sessions and provide ongoing information, advice and guidance to learners.
• Be flexible with delivery methods and adapt to learners' needs.
• Help learners identify skills to progress toward career goals.
• Motivate and energise learners to realise their potential.
• Promote Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

Location: Centre based

Salary: From 30,000 (Depending on skills and experience)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Duties

• Deliver Functional Skills English, within a classroom environment (up to Level 2).
• Utilise existing delivery resources, as well as preparing own when required.
• Deliver engaging training sessions and provide ongoing IAG to learners.
• The successful candidate will be flexible with their delivery methods, providing differentiation and be able to adapt quickly to learners needs.
• Assist learners in identifying the skills required to progress towards their career aspirations.
• The successful candidate must be engaging and able to demonstrate energy and passion to motivate / train clients in order to help learners realise their potential.
• Promote Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

Essential Criteria

• Experience of delivering Functional Skills English
• Must hold own Level 3 qualification in English.
• Must have experience of delivering training to small groups of learners
• Hold - or be willing to work towards - a Level 5 Teaching qualification.
• Demonstrable energy and passion to motivate and train clients.
• Ability to overcome challenges and support learners to progress.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrate confidence, tenacity and ability to work on own initiative.
