Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Functional Skills English Tutor to join our team in a centre-based setting. The role involves delivering English, up to Level 2, using existing resources and creating new materials as needed.

You will engage learners with dynamic sessions, provide information, advice and guidance, and support progression. The ideal candidate will have a Level 5 teaching qualification (or above), a Level 2 English qualification, and experience delivering Functional Skills English to

up to 35,000 (depending on skills and experience)

Full-time, Permanent

Duties:

• Deliver Functional Skills English, within a classroom environment (up to Level 2).
• Utilise existing delivery resources, as well as preparing own when required.
• Deliver engaging training sessions and provide ongoing IAG to learners.
• The successful candidate will be flexible with their delivery methods, providing differentiation and be able to adapt quickly to learners needs.
• Assist learners in identifying the skills required to progress towards their career aspirations.
• The successful candidate must be engaging and able to demonstrate energy and passion to motivate / train clients in order to help learners realise their potential.
• Promote Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

Essential Criteria:

• Hold a Level 5 Teaching qualification, or above (e.g. CertEd/DTLLS/PGCE)
• Experience of delivering Functional Skills English
• Must hold own Level 2 qualification in English.
• Must have experience of delivering training to small groups of learners
• Demonstrable energy and passion to motivate and train clients.
• Ability to overcome challenges and support learners to progress.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrate confidence, tenacity and ability to work on own initiative.
