Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Functional Skills English Tutor to work in a centre-based role delivering English up to Level 2 in a classroom setting. You will use existing resources and prepare materials when needed, delivering engaging sessions with ongoing guidance to learners.

Ideal candidates will have a Level 5 Teaching qualification (or be working towards one) and a Level 3 English qualification, plus proven experience delivering Functional Skills English to small groups.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be working towards a Level 5 Teaching qualification (e.g. CertEd/DTLLS/PGCE).
• Must hold own Level 3 qualification in English.
• Experience of delivering Functional Skills English.
• Experience delivering training to small groups.
• Energetic and passionate to motivate and train clients.

• Deliver Functional Skills English up to Level 2 in a classroom environment.

Duties

• Deliver Functional Skills English, within a classroom environment (up to Level 2).
• Utilise existing delivery resources, as well as preparing own when required.
• Deliver engaging training sessions and provide ongoing IAG to learners.
• The successful candidate will be flexible with their delivery methods, providing differentiation and be able to adapt quickly to learners needs.
• Assist learners in identifying the skills required to progress towards their career aspirations.
• The successful candidate must be engaging and able to demonstrate energy and passion to motivate / train clients in order to help learners realise their potential.
• Promote Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

Essential Criteria

• Must hold - or be willing to work towards - a Level 5 Teaching qualification, or above (e.g. CertEd/DTLLS/PGCE)
• Must hold own Level 3 qualification in English.
• Experience of delivering Functional Skills English
• Must have experience of delivering training to small groups of learners
• Demonstrable energy and passion to motivate and train clients.
• Ability to overcome challenges and support learners to progress.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrate confidence, tenacity and ability to work on own initiative.
