Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Functional Skills English Tutor for a centre-based role. You will deliver Functional Skills English up to Level 2 in a classroom setting and use existing resources while preparing your own materials.

The role is full-time and permanent with a salary of up to £40,000, including location uplift. The candidate should hold a Level 5 teaching qualification (or be working towards) and a Level 3 English qualification, plus experience delivering Functional Skills English.

Qualifications

• Must hold – or be willing to work towards – a Level 5 Teaching qualification, or above (e.g. CertEd/DTLLS/PGCE)
• Must hold own Level 3 qualification in English
• Experience of delivering Functional Skills English
• Must have experience of delivering training to small groups of learners
• Demonstrable energy and passion to motivate and train clients.
• Ability to overcome challenges and support learners to progress.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrate confidence, tenacity and ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills English, within a classroom environment (up to Level 2).
• Utiliseexisting delivery resources, as well as preparing own when required.
• Deliver engaging training sessions and provide ongoing IAG to learners.
• The successful candidate will be flexible with their delivery methods, providing differentiation and be able to adapt quickly to learners needs.
• Assist learners in identifying the skills required to progress towards their career aspirations.
• The successful candidate must be engaging and able to demonstrate energy and passion to motivate/train clients in order to help learners realise their potential.
