Maven Group Ltd invites NMC/HCPC professionals to apply as Functional Assessors in Newcastle upon Tyne. Starting salary is £42,000 per year, rising to £46,000 after 12 months with training and DWP approval. The role is 9am–5pm, Monday–Friday, with full-time and part-time options and hybrid/home working.

You will assess five clients a day by phone, video or in person and prepare reports for DWP decision-making, supported with excellent training and ongoing CPD.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) or HCPC qualified professional with 1+ year post-registration experience.
• Proactive and keen to learn.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health.

Responsabilités

• Carry out 5 client assessments per day (telephone, video or face-to-face) to understand how disability or health condition affects working capability and produce a factual report for DWP.
• Gather information and deliver reports to support DWP decision-making while the final eligibility decision lies with DWP.

• Excellent starting salary at £42,000pa

£4,000 performance related salary uplift to £46,000pa after 12 months following training and DWP Functional Assessor approval.

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You'll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.
