Job summary

Maven Group Ltd is recruiting NMC/HCPC registered professionals in Northampton for a WCA Functional Assessor role. Expect 5 assessments daily, with a mix of telephone, video or face-to-face formats, and reporting to support DWP decisions.

The role offers an excellent starting salary, flexible hours (full/part-time options), and hybrid/home working. On-site in Northampton, with CPD support and professional fees paid.

Qualifications

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN or RMN) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s post-registration experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health.

Responsibilities

• Carry out around 5 client assessments per day for Work Capability Assessments (WCA).
• Conduct assessments via telephone, video or face-to-face formats.
• Produce factual reports to support DWP benefit eligibility decisions.
• Gather information and generate accurate, report-ready documentation.

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day who are claiming for WCA (Work Capability Assessment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related activity. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.
