Job summary

Maven Group Ltd in Northampton is seeking a WCA Functional Assessor (NMC/HCPC registered) to conduct up to five client assessments daily by telephone, video or in person, contributing to reports for the DWP. The role offers a starting salary of £39,500 per annum, full-time or part-time options, and hybrid or home-working arrangements.

You should have 1 year post-registration experience in nursing or HCPC roles, strong communication and IT skills, and a proactive approach to learning.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN or RMN) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with post-registration experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent IT and computer skills

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day who are claiming for WCA (Work Capability Assessment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related activity. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN or RMN) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
