Job summary

Maven Group Ltd in the United Kingdom is recruiting a WCA Functional Assessor. You will assess clients claiming for Work Capability Assessment, conducting up to five assessments per day via telephone, video or face-to-face to gather information and produce a factual report for DWP eligibility decisions.

The role welcomes NMC or HCPC qualified professionals with post-registration experience, strong communication skills, and IT proficiency.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified professional with 1+ year post-registration experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out up to 5 client assessments per day for WCA (Work Capability Assessment).
• Conduct assessments via telephone, video or face-to-face.
• Produce factual reports to assist DWP in determining eligibility for benefits.

• Excellent starting salary at £39,500pa
• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)
• Durham based when working on-site

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day who are claiming for WCA (Work Capability Assessment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related activity. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
• Someone who’s proactive and keen to learn
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health
