Now Hiring: Frozen Food Buyer – Join the Heron Foods Team!

Are you an experienced Buyer with a passion for FMCG? Do you love working with top brands and shaping product ranges that excite customers? If so, Heron Foods wants to hear from you!

We’re looking for a Food Buyer to take ownership of a broad Frozen Food portfolio within our fast-moving, customer-first retail environment. Based at our Store Support Centre in Melton (HU14 3HJ), this is your chance to make a real impact in a growing, empowered business. We’re open to flexible working, with a minimum of three days per week in the office, giving you the balance of collaboration and autonomy to thrive in your role.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be the commercial lead across several Frozen Food categories, driving sales growth, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction through smart trading decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Take full ownership of a broad product portfolio (branded & own-label).
  • Deliver profitable sales growth through range development, pricing, and promotions.
  • Negotiate and manage Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key suppliers.
  • Build long-term supplier partnerships to unlock growth, value, and innovation.
  • Stay close to the market, customers, and competition to keep the range fresh, relevant, and competitive.
