Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Fakenham is seeking a Verification Assurance Officer (Central) to join a new team delivering fraud prevention at the frontline of the welfare system. You'll work from a Jobcentre location, interviewing claimants and coordinating with colleagues to verify documents and strengthen fraud controls.

The role involves face-to-face interviews, staff training, and routine MI reporting, with travel between sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Jobcentre and Service Centre colleagues conducting initial evidence interviews and verification activities.
• Conduct robust interviews where a colleague suspects the validity of documents produced for verification of Identification, housing costs, children and childcare costs elements of Universal Credit.
• Conduct review meetings with customers where Enhanced Review Team and customer agree to bring in evidence relating to their claim to a Jobcentre.
• Provide regular feedback at office meetings on fraud trends and how to detect them; feed information into risk and intelligence teams within DWP.
• Lead customer education sessions with Jobcentre colleagues to explain customer responsibilities and consequences of non-compliance.
• Collate and maintain accurate Management Information (MI) as directed by analysts and performance teams.
