Job summary

Government Recruitment Service seeks a Verification Assurance Officer (Central) to join a frontline fraud-prevention team within Jobcentre and Service Centres. You will interview claimants, verify documents, and work with colleagues to strengthen fraud controls at the point of service.

The role requires on-site working with travel between sites and regular MI reporting. You will educate customers on responsibilities and help reduce welfare fraud while supporting strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain fraud risks clearly.
• Experience in conducting interviews and collecting evidence.
• Ability to identify and flag potential fraud promptly.
• Familiarity with welfare systems and verification processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and follow-up evidence interviews with claimants.
• Verify identification, housing and childcare cost elements of Universal Credit.
• Provide evidence-based feedback to teams and contribute to MI reporting.
• Lead customer education sessions and explain responsibilities to claimants.
