Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is hiring a Freight Safety & Securing Operative to support Eurotunnel operations at the Folkestone terminal. You’ll ensure vehicle security, assist drivers and passengers, and work across a 24/7 shift pattern.

This on-site role requires strong customer service, vigilance, and teamwork, with full induction and ongoing safety training provided. A UK driving licence is desirable and eligibility to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Be eligible to work in the UK and pass UK DBS check.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.
• Experience in logistics or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Securing: Apply wheel chocks to HGVs boarding the shuttle.
• Safety Inspections: Pre- and post-journey checks on freight vehicles and trains.
• Customer Support: Greet drivers and passengers, give clear instructions.
• Team Collaboration: Work with colleagues in a safety-critical environment.
• On-site Driving: Operate company vehicles within the terminal when required.
