Job summary

The Academy of St Nicholas in Liverpool is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Foundational Skills) to support students needing literacy, numeracy and foundational learning skills. You will deliver high-quality interventions, helping pupils build confidence and access the wider curriculum.

The role focuses on targeted intervention delivery, collaboration with teachers, and tracking progress to raise outcomes for disadvantaged learners.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering targeted literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Ability to work with individuals and small groups.
• Commitment to inclusion and raising outcomes for disadvantaged learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy intervention programmes.
• Work with students individually and in small groups.
• Support improvements in reading, writing and numeracy outcomes.
• Monitor and track student progress.
• Liaise with teachers and leaders regarding intervention impact.
• Promote positive attitudes towards learning and achievement.
• Support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
• Contribute to the Academy's inclusion and improvement priorities.
