Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Bolton, UK seeks a Sensor Actuator Assurance Engineer to develop and maintain methods verifying sensors and actuators used in PU control systems, supporting both laboratory and track operations.

The role ensures devices meet performance and safety requirements throughout their lifecycle, collaborating with Data Analysis and PLM teams and supporting dyno tests and trackside events with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working with electronics in a motorsport or high-performance environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods and procedures aligned with manufacturer recommendations, industry standards, and PU use cases.
• Design protective storage solutions and handling/installation procedures to preserve device integrity.
• Create and execute non-destructive evaluation methods and maintain complete records.
• Collaborate with Data Analysis and PLM teams to correlate device usage with reliability outcomes.
• Assist in sensor/actuator selection for PU applications with Electronics Systems Engineering and PU Design.
• Execute assurance testing; document results and produce statistical reports on fleet condition and trends.
• Engage suppliers on performance issues, fault resolution, and supply chain concerns as needed.
