Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychological assessments for individuals and contribute to the creation of effective treatment and care plans.
  • Provide individual psychological interventions for patients with identified needs.
  • Review and assess the effectiveness of psychological interventions.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other professionals to implement therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintain and develop a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • Involve patients in decisions affecting their care.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide a psychological perspective on relevant matters.
  • Deliver clinical supervision and conduct performance appraisals as required.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, ensuring effective management and administration compliance.
  • Complete written reports and records according to relevant procedures.
  • Undertake other duties that align with this role.
Person Specification / Qualifications
  • Must be a HCPC-registered Psychologist.
  • At least two years of post-qualification experience as a Forensic Psychologist.
  • Experience working with adults facing mental health issues, learning disabilities, substance misuse, and forensic histories in inpatient settings.
  • Proficient in assessing challenging behaviours and formulating treatment plans.
  • Experience with indirect clinical work, including team consultations for supporting therapeutic interventions.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism and personality disorders.
  • Post-qualification training in one or more therapeutic approaches is desirable.
  • Experience in family therapy or interventions is advantageous.
