Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency seeks a Food Technology Teacher in Devon and Torbay to teach across KS3, KS4 & KS5. Responsibilities include delivering engaging lessons with a focus on practical skills and supporting students with special educational needs, particularly Autism. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, resilience, and a passion for inclusive education. Registration with the update service for a DBS Certificate is required, along with the ability to create tailored lesson plans.

About the Role
  • Teach Food Technology across KS3, KS4 & KS5.
  • Class sizes are small (5-8 students) to ensure personalized learning.
  • Deliver engaging, practical lessons that develop cooking and catering skills.
  • Implement Positive Behaviour Strategies and maintain a calm, supportive classroom environment.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience teaching or working with students with special educational needs, particularly Autism.
  • Strong practical background in food preparation, catering, or related fields.
  • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and students.
  • Resilience, patience, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
  • Enhanced Child or Child & Adult Workforce DBS Certificate registered on the update service.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and innovative teaching techniques.
