Pay: from £100 for unqualified to £190 for fully qualified

Contract: Full-time, with potential to extend

We are working in partnership with a specialist school in Ormskirk to recruit a Food Technology Teacher, Instructor, or Cover Supervisor for a full-time role starting in January, initially running until Easter 2026, with the potential to extend.

This position is open to qualified teachers, cover supervisors, and non-subject specialists who have a genuine interest and passion for cooking and food preparation. The school is committed to providing on-the-job support, guidance, and training to help the successful candidate succeed in the role.

  • Delivering engaging Food Technology lessons to secondary-aged pupils
  • Supporting pupils to develop practical cooking skills, confidence, and independence
  • Following existing schemes of work, with flexibility to adapt lessons as needed
  • Managing the classroom and practical environment safely and effectively
  • Has a strong interest or background in cooking, food, or practical subjects
  • May be a qualified teacher, cover supervisor, or an individual from a non-teaching background
  • Experience in education, catering, hospitality, or youth work is advantageous but not essential
  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday
  • Fixed-term position from January to Easter 2026, with scope to extend
