Job summary

Hastings Hotels is seeking a reliable Food & Beverage Assistant for the Culloden Estate & Spa to support the Lough Bar Team. You will assist in presenting the bar, serving beverages and snacks, and ensuring guest satisfaction across shifts ranging from 10am to 11pm.

Responsibilities

• To maintain the presentation of the bar and the service of beverages and snacks for guests.
• To keep the service areas clean and tidy according to Hastings Standards.
• To serve food and beverages with the highest standard of service and handle orders and payments.
• Greet guests and respond to their queries.
• To ensure correct cash, charges, floats and till procedures are followed.
• To use bar equipment efficiently and minimize wastage.
• To safeguard stock areas and report breaches.
• To be knowledgeable about hotel offerings and promote them to guests.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a respectful and harmonious work environment.

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic person to support our Lough Bar Team at the exclusive Culloden Estate & Spa.

Under the leadership of our Beverage Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with our friendly team, develop your skills, and enjoy the variety offered by a role in hospitality. This casual position offers an hourly rate of £9.55 to £12.75 per hour depending on your age. Typical shifts could include 10am to 6pm, 12pm to 8pm, or 3pm to 11pm, with later hours at the weekend.

About the role

To be responsible for the presentation of the bar and the service of beverages and snacks for greatest enjoyment of our guests.

• To maintain the cleanliness of service areas according to Hastings Standards.

• To serve food and beverages to guests ensuring the highest standard of service and that all guest needs and expectations are met. Typical tasks include, bar stocks, preparing and serving beverages, taking orders and payments.

• Greeting guests and responding to their queries.

• To ensure all cash, charges, floats and till procedures are carried out correctly.

• To use equipment and bar pumps efficiently, to maintain proper measures and ensure minimum wastage.

• To always maintain the security of stock areas, immediately reporting any breaches.

• To be knowledgeable about the hotel offerings and be proactive in the sale of these to guests.

• To ensure that guest concerns are dealt with politely and efficiently, reporting them to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.

• To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.

• To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.

• Any other duties as required by management.
