Job summary

Hastings Hotels Group is seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant for Stormont Hotel Belfast. You will be responsible for serving food and drinks, maintaining spotless service areas, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

The role requires a friendly, professional appearance, strong customer service, and previous hospitality experience. 35 hours per week across five shifts, including weekends, with competitive pay and staff benefits.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to guests for their enjoyment and profitability.

• Take orders, serve meals and drinks, and process payments.
• Greet guests and respond to queries.
• Ensure cash handling and till procedures are correct.
• Be knowledgeable about hotel offerings and assist in upselling where possible.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a respectful, harmonious workplace.
• Strictly follow health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.

About The Role

To be responsible for serving food & beverages for the greatest enjoyment of our guests and maximum profit contribution to the Hotel.

• To maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the service areas according to Hastings Standards.
• To serve food and beverages to guests ensuring the highest standard of service and that all guest needs and expectations are met. Typical tasks include, clearing and setting tables, taking orders, serving food and beverages and taking payments.
• To ensure all cash, charges, floats and till procedures are carried out correctly.
• Greeting guests and responding to their queries.
• To ensure all equipment and materials are used in the correct manner and any problems are reported immediately.
• To always maintain the security of stock areas, immediately reporting any breaches.
• To be knowledgeable about the hotel offerings and be proactive in the sale of these to guests.
• To ensure that guest concerns are dealt with politely and efficiently, reporting them to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.
• To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
• To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
• Any other duties as required by management.

Required Criteria

• Right to Work in the United Kingdom

• Excellent communication skills
• Previous hospitality experience

Desired Criteria

• Previous experience in a hotel or other high-quality establishment
• Educated to Level 2 (GCSE grades A-C) or the equivalent in English and Mathematics
