Job summary

MMP Consultancy Limited is seeking an experienced Floor Layer to join a leading social housing contractor covering Dudley, Wolverhampton and Sandwell. The role involves working in occupied properties, performing reactive repairs and planned maintenance to a high standard while delivering excellent tenant service.

Qualifications

• Experience as Floor Layer in social housing, repairs or maintenance.
• Fitting vinyl, safety flooring, laminate and carpet tiles.
• Able to prepare subfloors and carry out repairs.
• Experience working in occupied properties and delivering good customer service.
• Own basic hand tools and a UK driving licence; smartphone for job updates.

Responsibilities

• Carry out floor laying repairs and renewals in occupied social housing.
• Install, repair and maintain vinyl, safety flooring, laminate, and carpet tiles.
• Prepare subfloors including screeding and patch repairs.
• Ensure installations meet high standards and deadlines.
• Complete up to 7 jobs per day across the patch.
• Communicate professionally with residents at all times.
• Update job progress using the company app.
• Follow health and safety procedures and company policies.

Floor Layer

Location: Dudley, Wolverhampton & Sandwell

Salary: £31,000 per annum

Job Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 17:00pm

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Floor Layer to join a leading Social Housing Contractor operating across Dudley, Wolverhampton, and Sandwell. The successful candidate will work within occupied social housing properties, carrying out reactive repairs and planned maintenance to a high standard while delivering excellent customer service to tenants.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out floor laying repairs and renewals within occupied social housing properties.
• Install, repair, and maintain a variety of flooring types including vinyl, safety flooring, sheet vinyl, laminate, and carpet tiles.
• Undertake floor preparation works including latex screeding, patch repairs, and subfloor preparation.
• Ensure all flooring installations are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
• Complete up to 7 jobs per day across the designated patch.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with residents at all times.
• Accurately update job progress and completion details using a mobile application.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Floor Layer, ideally within the social housing, repairs, or maintenance sector.
• Experience fitting a range of flooring products including vinyl, safety flooring, and laminate flooring.
• Ability to prepare subfloors and carry out associated flooring repairs.
• Experience working in occupied properties and providing excellent customer service.
• Own basic hand and power tools required for floor laying work-s?
• Smartphone for receiving and updating jobs via the company app (BYOD allowance of £20 per month).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
