18 Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Floor Layer to join a growing social housing maintenance team in the Midlands region. You will work across occupied and void properties delivering repairs, replacements and installations to high standards.

The role requires proven flooring experience, knowledge of vinyl, cap & cove, safety flooring and laminate, plus the ability to work independently and communicate clearly with customers. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Floor Layer.
• Strong knowledge of vinyl flooring, cap & cove, safety flooring and laminate installations.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair vinyl, cap & cove, safety flooring, laminate and sheet flooring.
• Carry out floor preparation including screeding, levelling, sub-floor repairs.
• Perform responsive repairs and planned maintenance in social housing properties.
• Undertake flooring replacements in void properties to meet lettable standards.
• Ensure work is completed on time and to high-quality standards.
• Maintain excellent customer service when working in occupied homes.
• Follow all health and safety procedures of the company.

On behalf of our client, we are recruiting for an experienced Floor Layer to join a well-established social housing contractor covering Dudley, Sandwell, and Wolverhampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled flooring professional seeking the security and benefits of a permanent position. The role will involve working across both occupied and void social housing properties, carrying out a range of flooring repairs, replacements, and installations as part of a busy repairs and maintenance contract.

The Role

As a Floor Layer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality flooring works within domestic social housing properties, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and repair of vinyl flooring, cap and cove, safety flooring, laminate, and sheet flooring.
• Carrying out floor preparation works, including screeding, levelling, and sub-floor repairs.
• Completing responsive repairs and planned maintenance works within social housing properties.
• Undertaking flooring replacements within void properties to bring homes up to lettable standards.
• Ensuring all work is completed within agreed timescales and quality standards.
• Maintaining excellent customer service when working within occupied homes.
• Adhering to all company health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Floor Layer.
• Strong knowledge of vinyl flooring, cap and cove, safety flooring, sheet vinyl, and laminate installations.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence .
