Job summary

Construction Resources is looking for an experienced Floorlayer to cover properties across Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton. You will install and repair resilient floor coverings in residential settings, ensuring high standards and compliance with health and safety practices.

The role requires proven floorlayer experience, vinyl and cap & Cove flooring skills, subfloor preparation, and welding. A full UK driving licence and a reliable, team-oriented attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Floorlayer in residential settings.
• Experience installing vinyl and cap & cove flooring.
• Subfloor preparation and smoothing compounds knowledge.
• Competent with hot and cold welding techniques.
• Strong health and safety awareness and practices.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare subfloors: clean, smooth, level and repair as needed.
• Install flat lay vinyl flooring in kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces.
• Fit cap and Cove flooring systems and weld joints as required.
• Carry out welding of vinyl flooring where necessary.
• Measure, cut and fit flooring materials with accuracy.
• Ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
• Work respectfully in occupied properties and keep areas tidy.
• Complete job sheets and required documentation.
• Liaise professionally with residents, supervisors and team.

Location: Dudley, Sandwell & Wolverhampton
Salary: Up to £31,000 per annum depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Floorlayer to join their team, covering properties across Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton.

You will be responsible for installing and repairing a range of resilient floor coverings within residential properties, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare subfloors, including cleaning, smoothing, levelling and minor repairs.
• Install flat lay vinyl flooring in kitchens, bathrooms, communal areas and other residential spaces.
• Fit cap and cove flooring systems, including forming coves and welding joints.
• Carry out hot and cold welding of vinyl flooring where required.
• Measure, cut and fit flooring materials accurately.
• Ensure all work meets the required quality and safety standards.
• Work respectfully within occupied properties, keeping work areas clean and tidy.
• Complete job sheets, paperwork and relevant documentation.
• Liaise professionally with residents, supervisors and other members of the team.

About You

• Proven experience as a Floorlayer.
• Experience installing flat lay vinyl and cap and cove flooring.
• Experience preparing subfloors and using smoothing compounds.
• Competent with hot and cold welding techniques.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
