Job summary

Education Authority in Antrim-Ballymena invites applications for a Part-Time Classroom Assistant – Special Educational Needs. Working under the principal and class teacher, you will support pupils with SEN to access the curriculum and participate in activities, inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant area.
• Either 6 weeks experience in a formal learning environment or 12 months’ experience in a formal learning environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety requirements and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the educational support and care of pupils with special educational needs.
• Support the pupil(s) to access the curriculum and participate in programmes.
• Assist with classroom administration and preparing resources.
• Support with moving around the school and transitions with transport.
• Contribute to the safeguarding and well-being of pupils in line with policies.
