Job summary

N Family Club is seeking a flexible Kitchen Assistant to support our chef in its state-of-the-art nursery kitchen. You will assist with cooking, food preparation, and daily meal services for children, while ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.

The role involves covering shifts, learning 5-star hygiene practices, and potentially leading the kitchen in the chef's absence. Join a vibrant team in Bushey or Bishop's Stortford with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment and/or nursery kitchen.
• Good knowledge of food allergens and child nutrition.
• Ideally Food Hygiene Level 2 qualified (or willing to complete during onboarding).
• Passion for food and nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cooking fresh and nutritious meals for nursery children.
• Pot-wash and ensure crockery and equipment are cleaned and sterilised.
• Follow nutritionist-designed recipes to meet vitamin and nutrient needs.
• Support chef to cater for dietary needs and allergy considerations.
• Prepare a daily lunch and smoothie for nursery staff.
• Maintain kitchen paperwork and daily Cleaning Schedule.
