Job summary

N Family Club in Hove is seeking a Flexi Kitchen Assistant to support our Chef in running the nursery's state-of-the-art kitchen and to help deliver nutritious meals for children.

You will cover varied shift patterns, maintain high hygiene standards, assist with food prep and ordering, and help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly while building strong relationships with staff, children and parents.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment and/or a nursery kitchen.
• Good knowledge of food allergens and child nutrition.
• Ideally, Food Hygiene Level 2 qualified (or willing to complete during onboarding).
• Passion for food and nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cooking fresh and inspiring food for children, with flexibility to meet nursery needs.
• Pot-wash for the nursery, ensuring crockery and equipment are cleaned and sterilised.
• Follow nutritionist-designed recipes and menus to ensure vitamins and nutrients are delivered.
• Support the chef to cater for dietary needs of different age groups, following guidelines.
