Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as flexible (temporary) postal delivery drivers, delivering letters and parcels in your local area. You will drive a Royal Mail van and complete parts of your route on foot, with shifts including early mornings, days, evenings, and nights.

This role combines active outdoor work with customer-facing service, requiring a full UK manual driving licence, physical fitness, and adaptability to varying shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points – you’ll be driving a Royal Mail van as part of your round.
• Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver letters and parcels across your route, with some parts walked.
• Safely handle and deliver items in line with Royal Mail standards, including election materials and restricted goods.
