Job summary

Dawsongroup EMC is seeking an experienced Service Controller to coordinate planned maintenance, breakdowns and repairs across our workshop and field engineers, ensuring safety, compliance and availability of the hire fleet.

You will balance customer requirements with fleet availability, communicate clearly with customers and suppliers, and manage repair authorisations and maintenance expenditures to keep downtime to a minimum.

Qualifications

• Previous relevant experience coordinating servicing, maintenance, repairs or fleet activity.
• Confident communication skills, particularly when handling customer updates, breakdowns and repair queries.
• An organised approach with the ability to prioritise planned work alongside reactive requirements.
• Commercial awareness, with the confidence to control costs, check invoices and follow agreed authorisation processes.
• Accuracy when maintaining records and computerised systems, with an understanding of why compliance information matters.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule servicing, repairs and compliance events, balancing customer requirements with fleet availability.
• Coordinate workshop, mobile and third party engineering activity, keeping customers informed with clear and timely updates.
• Authorise repair work and control maintenance expenditure while ensuring safety, legislative requirements and manufacturer recommendations remain the priority.
• Maintain accurate service histories, repair updates, VOR information and maintenance records within our computerised systems.
• Work closely with Rental Operations, technical support, stores and suppliers to keep jobs progressing and minimise equipment downtime.
