Job summary

Dawsongroup Environmental Municipal Civil (EMC) is seeking a motivated Workshop Engineer in Brighouse. You will diagnose faults, repair and service our sweepers and specialist equipment, and maintain accurate records to ensure safe, reliable operations for our hire fleet.

You will inspect vehicles, assist with MOT checks, and help keep the workshop area organised and compliant. The role suits practical, team‑oriented engineers who prioritise safety and asset care.

Qualifications

• Relevant mechanical or engineering skills applicable to vehicle and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose faults and perform repairs with minimal supervision.
• Strong emphasis on safety, accurate record-keeping and looking after company assets.
• Able to work as part of a team and support wider workshop and rental operations.
• Understanding of following company procedures and only using trained/authorised equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, carry out repairs and complete routine maintenance on sweepers and other equipment.
• Complete accurate work records, including parts used and time taken.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and MOT checks, including delivering vehicles to MOT test stations.
• Keep workshop areas, tools and equipment clean, tidy and safe, reporting defects promptly.
• Support rental operations with weekly stock checks of hire fleet assets not currently on rent.
