Job summary

Bradford Council seeks a permanent Fuel, Hire & Compliance Officer in the Fleet Compliance Department at Shearbridge depot, Bradford. The role supports operational management, with tasks spanning payroll, job sheets, and ICT liaison across eight Fleet & Transport Service Departments.

The post requires accuracy, strong numeracy, and ability to develop bespoke reports to analyse data and vehicle costs, ensuring legal compliance and timely service delivery.

Qualifications

• have experience of working in a fleet/vehicle/transport related environment
• have experience of processing job sheets and payroll information
• can demonstrate an ability to work with a high level of computer literacy and be able to implement, maintain and manage accurate information retention systems both manual and computerised
• have the ability to understand administrative and financial procedures
• are used to working under constant pressure and to strict deadlines
• are able to demonstrate an ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, numeracy and literacy
• have excellent written and communications skills
• are able to manage your own time and priorities
• hold a valid UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• process fleet workshop job sheets
• maintain accurate records of daily staff attendance
• process payroll information including overtime and additional payments
• liaise with suppliers and customers (external and internal)
• create reports to ensure legislative compliance (drivers hours, Service/MOT dates)
• write and develop bespoke reports to analyse data and produce whole life vehicle costs
