Job summary

Somerset Council is seeking a Fleet Operational Support Officer to provide detailed compliance, business and finance support to the Fleet and Workshop team at our Yeovil offices.

You will liaise with internal services and external partners, prepare reports for senior management, manage vehicle-related systems, and help drive service improvements while ensuring regulatory compliance with the Traffic Commissioner.

Qualifications

• Educated to A level standard or similar.
• Intermediate level computing and application skills.
• Level 4 Administration or finance related qualification.
• IOSH/NEBOSH

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed admin support to Fleet Management and workshop team.
• Prepare reports for Senior management and Councillors.
• Manage the digital driver licence check system.
• Manage the digital tachograph system per Traffic Commissioners guidelines.
• Be an ambassador for the Council promoting its vision and values.
