Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Rugby, UK, is seeking a Customs Team Leader/First Line Manager to lead our customs operations and drive compliant, efficient import/export flows.

You will manage a small team, ensure documentation meets UK/EU rules, collaborate with Planning, Brokers, and Freight forwarders, and develop SOPs to sustain service levels. Flexible patterns available; strong communication and Excel skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small team in an office-based environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Computer literacy including Excel.
• Knowledge of Customs and Brokers is an advantage.
• Experience in Transport Planning and a strategic mindset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all export and import documentation is prepared in accordance with EU and UK customs requirements.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of UK customs processes and EU export regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Planning, NDNS, EU control towers, Brokers and Freight forwarders) to ensure accuracy and SLAs are met.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work instructions.
• Managing a small team of customs administrators.

Shift patterns: 3 Weekly Shift Rotation: 0700 - 1500, 0900 - 1700 & 1100 - 1900 (Flexible)
Shifts: Monday to Friday
