Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Customs Team Leader/First Line Manager in Rugby to lead operations, ensure compliant customs processes, and drive performance. The role involves coordinating with planning, brokers, and control towers, and maintaining SOPs while supporting a small team of customs administrators.

The ideal candidate will have experience in customs, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to logistics challenges.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a small team in an office-based environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Computer literacy, including Excel.
• Knowledge of customs and brokers is an advantage.
• Have previous Transport Planning Experience.
• Have a strategic mindset and a passion for problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Ensure export and import documentation is prepared in accordance with EU and UK customs requirements.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of UK customs processes and EU export regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Planning, NDNS, EU control towers, Brokers and Freight forwarders) to ensure accuracy and SLAs are met.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work instructions.
• Managing a small team of customs administrators.

Shift patterns: 3 Weekly Shift Rotation: 0700 - 1500, 0900 - 1700 & 1100 - 1900 (Flexible)
Shifts: Monday to Friday
