Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking a proactive 1st Line IT Support Engineer (Apprentice) for their Burton Latimer head office. The role provides first-line IT support to office and remote users, guiding them through common issues while you work towards a Level 3 ICT apprenticeship.

You will join a supportive IT team, manage tickets, configure devices, assist with Microsoft 365 apps, and participate in IT projects. Training, development, and a professional pathway are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a 1st Line IT Support, Service Desk or similar technical support role.
• Knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365.
• An understanding of user account administration, ideally involving Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID.
• Experience setting up and supporting computers, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals.
• Basic knowledge of networking, including Wi-Fi, VPNs and connectivity troubleshooting.
• An understanding of IT security principles and good practice.
• Familiarity with ticketing or IT service management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support to users via telephone, email and the ticketing system.
• Log, prioritise and manage support tickets, keeping users updated on progress.
• Troubleshoot common hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Set up and maintain user accounts, access permissions and IT devices.
• Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
• Assist with the setup, deployment and maintenance of laptops, desktops, mobile devices and peripherals.
• Identify and resolve issues where possible, escalating more complex technical problems when required.
• Follow IT security procedures, including multi-factor authentication, antivirus protection and system updates.
• Maintain accurate IT documentation, asset registers and support records.
• Assist with IT projects, system improvements and other technical tasks as required.
