Job summary

Interaction Recruitment PLC, on behalf of a family-owned business, is seeking a 1st Line IT Support Engineer (Apprentice) in Burton Latimer. You will be the first point of contact for IT queries, support office and remote users, and work toward a Level 3 ICT apprenticeship.

The role covers tickets, setup of devices, Microsoft 365 apps, and basic networking, with a focus on friendly, professional service and ongoing development within a supportive IT team.

Qualifications

• Experience in 1st Line IT Support, Service Desk or similar.
• Knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365.
• Understanding of user account administration (Active Directory / Entra ID).
• Experience setting up computers, laptops, mobiles and peripherals.
• Basic networking knowledge (Wi‑Fi, VPNs, connectivity).
• Understanding of IT security principles and good practice.
• Familiarity with ticketing or IT service management systems.
• Strong communication; ability to explain tech to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support via telephone, email and ticketing system.
• Log, prioritise and manage support tickets; update users on progress.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Set up and maintain user accounts, access permissions and devices.
• Support Microsoft 365 apps (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
• Assist with device deployment and maintenance (laptops, desktops, mobiles).
• Escalate complex problems as needed; assist with IT projects and maintenance.
