Overview

Job Title: Fire Risk Assessor
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Salary / Benefits £22k – £45k + Training + Benefits
Level of Experience: Trainee through to Lead Fire Risk Assessor

Responsibilities
  • Perform Type 1/3 Fire Risk Assessments, pre‑occupation surveys, evacuation plans and site‑specific emergency plans on a mixed client base.
  • Gather site information to produce detailed, bespoke Fire Risk Assessment reports.
  • Work from building drawings and schematics to interpret layout and hazards.
  • Provide training in the use of fire extinguishers and deliver fire training briefings.
  • Liaise with clients, provide technical support when needed and handle enquiries.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant Health and Safety legislation and PAS79 guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Experience working for an established Health and Safety consultancy in a Fire Risk Assessor role.
  • Proven skill in carrying out Fire Risk Assessments for a mixed client portfolio.
  • Competent in using PDA / Tablet systems for reporting and data capture.
  • Well‑versed in relevant Health and Safety legislation and PAS79 guidelines.
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent recognised qualification (ideal).
  • Excellent communication skills and strong technical knowledge.
Travel

Prospective candidates must be prepared to travel extensively to meet client requirements.
