Job description

As a Financial Reporting Accountant - Treasury, you'll play a key role in supporting our purpose by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our treasury-related financial reporting. You'll be part of a collaborative team that helps us make confident, informed decisions that support our long-term financial health - and ultimately, the wellbeing of our customers. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders and gain exposure to a wide range of treasury activities, including investments, inter-group funding, and hedge accounting.

How you'll help us make health happen

As our Financial Reporting Accountant, you'll:

  • Be the subject matter expert for treasury accounting across UK and Irish regulated entities.
  • Prepare and analyse financial results (management and statutory) related to treasury activities.
  • Make sure trades are accurately reflected in the Treasury Management System (TMS) and reconcile with the general ledger.
  • Own the accounting and reporting for derivatives and hedge accounting.
  • Deliver timely and accurate statutory, regulatory, and management reports.
  • Provide clear explanations of treasury performance to stakeholders and support audit processes.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Treasury and Senior Investment Manager on planning and forecasting.
  • Support enhancements to the TMS and test system changes.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and apply new accounting standards in line with Bupa policy.
  • Share your expertise with the wider finance team and contribute to broader initiatives.
    A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) - please specify this on your application.
  • Experience in treasury accounting or financial services would be beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS, especially IFRS 9, 13, and 7.
  • Proven experience in financial and management reporting, ideally in a multi-currency environment.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A team player who meets deadlines and delivers high-quality work.
  • Experience with Treasury Management Systems would be beneficial
