Overview

Location: Glasgow (Office-based, Full Time). Employer: Civil engineering contractor specialising in renewables and energy.

About the Role: We are working with a rapidly growing civil engineering contractor based in Glasgow, operating in the renewables and energy sector. Due to significant growth, their finance team is expanding and they are now looking to hire a dedicated Finance Systems Technician.

This is a systems-focused position within the finance team, ideal for someone who enjoys working with software, improving processes, and supporting system development. You will work closely with the existing finance team and help drive improvements across finance systems and reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and optimisation of finance systems and tools
  • Build and improve financial reports using tools like Power BI
  • Collaborate with a finance team of 11-12 people
  • Automate workflows and enhance data processes
  • Identify system improvements and recommend solutions
  • Take ownership of systems-related tasks with minimal supervision
What We're Looking For
  • Strong IT skills and a passion for systems development
  • Working knowledge of finance software and processes
  • Experience with Power BI would be highly desirable
  • A self-starter who can work independently and proactively
  • No formal accounting qualification is required
  • Ability to work full time from the Glasgow office
  • Flexibility around working hours (e.g. 8-4 or 9-5)
