Job summary

Placements24, in partnership with a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking a Field Service Technician for Gauteng. You will install, configure and maintain fibre, DSL and wireless equipment at homes and businesses, with extensive regional travel.

Diagnose broadband and data issues, perform site surveys, and guide customers on usage and troubleshooting while upholding safety standards. Matric with technical certs and 3+ years telecom experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent qualification with relevant technical certifications preferred.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on telecom installation and repair experience.
• Solid understanding of FTTH, DSL, VoIP and LTE.
• Proficiency with testing and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the Gauteng region.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain telecom equipment at customer premises.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with broadband, voice and data services.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network components.
• Conduct site surveys to determine optimal equipment placement.
• Provide customer guidance on product usage and troubleshooting.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures.
• Manage service appointments and document resolutions.
