Job summary

Focal Systems in Cardiff is seeking a Field Service Technician for a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will work 40 hours per week, travel to customer sites, and perform on-site maintenance of camera hardware to ensure optimal operation.

The role requires a valid UK driving licence and the ability to work evenings or weekends as needed. You will diagnose issues, install, configure, and support deployment while meeting safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven field service experience in installation or maintenance.
• Strong technical aptitude with hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with power tools and installation equipment.
• Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks up to 9 hours.
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet quality standards.
• Effective time management to handle multiple sites.
• Clear communication with customers and supervisors.
• Valid UK driving license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Onsite and offsite maintenance of camera hardware and configurations.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks.
• Respond to service calls and meet customer SLAs.
• Maintain records of service activities and parts used.
• Assist with onboarding/scanning products into the system.
• Attend installations at various client sites, including night hours when required.
• Install Focal Systems product onto shelves and equipment.
• Operate power tools safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure quality standards.
