Job summary

Focal Systems is expanding its UK operations and seeks a Field Service Team Lead to oversee installations on-site and at customer locations. The role involves overnight work, guiding a team of Field Service Technicians, and ensuring installations meet KPIs and SLAs.

The position is a 6-month fixed-term contract, requiring a valid UK driving licence and reliable transport for travel to sites. 30 hours per week with potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a field technician role, including supervising others.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate a small team under time pressure.
• Strong technical aptitude to diagnose hardware/software issues.
• Proficiency with power tools and installation equipment.
• High physical stamina to work long shifts (up to 9 hours).
• Excellent attention to detail to meet specs and quality.
• Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication with supervisors, clients, and team.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport to sites.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of Field Service Technicians on site, allocating tasks and ensuring installations run to plan and schedule.
• Install camera hardware: mount, connect and configure per standards, overseeing the team.
• Conduct pre-installation site checks to identify issues before work begins.
• Be primary customer contact on site, escalating issues to meet SLAs.
• Review and sign-off completed installations to ensure quality before handover.
• Maintain records of installation activities using company tools.
• Onboard/scanning products into the system.
• Attend/lead night installations as required.
• Operate power tools safely and efficiently; ensure team compliance.
• Enforce safety protocols and guidelines during visits.
• Mentor and support team members to improve installation skills.
• Maintain attention to detail to meet quality standards.
• Meet or exceed team KPI targets for speed and quality.
• Communicate progress with supervisors and clients.
