Job summary

Focal Systems is expanding its UK field operations. We are seeking a Field Service Team Lead to oversee installations for customers across the region.

The role involves overnight work, leading a small team of technicians, and ensuring installations are completed on time and to standard. The position is a 6-month fixed-term contract, requiring at least 30 hours per week and a valid UK driving licence for travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Proven field service technician experience with some leadership exposure.
• Strong leadership and team coordination under time pressure.
• Technical aptitude with hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in using power tools for installations.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain high quality standards.
• Excellent communication with customers and team members.
• Willingness to work night shifts and weekends.
• Valid UK driving licence and reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of Field Service Technicians on site, allocating tasks and ensuring installations run to plan and schedule.
• Install camera hardware: mount, connect and configure according to company standards, oversee the team doing the same.
• Conduct pre-installation site checks and briefings to identify issues before installation begins.
• Act as primary on-site customer contact, escalating and resolving issues to meet SLAs.
• Review and sign off on installations to ensure quality before handover.
• Maintain records of installation activities across the team using company tools.
• Onboard/scan products into the system as required.
• Attend and lead installations at various clients during night hours as needed.
• Operate power tools safely and ensure team compliance.
• Enforce safety protocols to minimise risks during visits.
• Train and mentor new and existing team members to enhance skills.
• Maintain attention to detail to ensure tasks meet standards.
• Meet or exceed team speed and quality KPIs.
• Communicate progress with supervisors, clients and team.
