Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd has a vacancy for a Service Manager in Hull. You will lead a team of field service engineers, coordinate service schedules and respond to breakdowns to keep operations running smoothly.

Reporting to senior management, you will manage costs, ensure compliance and maintain strong customer relationships while driving service profitability and ensuring safety standards across the team.

Qualifications

• From a background in forklift/materials handling, plant hire, agricultural machinery, HGV, or MEWPs.
• Strong leadership, technical expertise and customer focus.
• Experience overseeing field-based engineers.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of field service engineers, allocate work and drive performance.
• Plan and manage service schedules for maintenance, servicing and inspections.
• Handle breakdowns and call-outs, directing engineers to minimise downtime.
• Maintain customer management as the main service contact.
• Provide technical oversight to understand problems and support engineers.
• Coordinate parts and repair logistics.
• Monitor service costs, jobs, productivity and profitability.
• Ensure health & safety/compliance for engineers and equipment.
• Collaborate with sales and other departments around accounts and contracts.
