Job summary

Stannah is a family-owned manufacturing and engineering company seeking a Field Service Manager to lead the Gateshead branch. Based at the Gateshead Service Branch with regional travel, you’ll oversee the field team and subcontractors, drive delivery of the branch business plan, and ensure safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, health and safety focus, and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in lift industry or similar service industry with transferable skills.
• Ability to plan engineer workloads and manage performance.
• NVQ Level 3 Lift Engineering or equivalent qualification desirable.
• Full UK driving licence essential.

• Manage absence, performance, and appraisals for the team.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures. Conduct risk assessments and method statements.
• Carry out regular site monitoring.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineer ready to step into a management role or an experienced manger to inspire a team to deliver exceptional service aligned with our values and safety standards.

As Field Service Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of the Branch Business Plan—overseeing PPM performance, LOLER defect management, call‑out responsiveness, first‑time fix rates and overall margin contribution. You’ll champion our company values and ensure our service delivery consistently reflects our commitment to quality and operational excellence.

You’ll manage and support our Field workforce and subcontractors, with Health and Safety, people development, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and risk management at the core of your approach. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll work closely with colleagues across all levels of the organisation and convey complex technical information clearly and confidently.

The successful candidate will be based at our Gateshead Service Branch, with travel across the region to be expected, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

Field Service Manager Job Responsibilities:
