A reputable recruitment agency is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Forklifts) in Colchester to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in forklifts and plant machinery. The role offers a competitive salary between £35,000 and £39,000, and on-target earnings of up to £45,000. Qualifications

Field Service Engineer (Forklifts)

Location: Colchester, Essex


Salary: £35,000-£39,000 (OTE £45,000+) - Paid Door-to-Door


Hours: Mon-Fri, 08:00-17:00 + Overtime (1.5x)


Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent


About the Role

Join a leading material handling company as a Mobile Forklift Engineer. You'll diagnose faults, service, and repair forklift and plant machinery at customer sites across the region.

Key Responsibilities


  • Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical faults on forklifts and plant equipment

  • Perform servicing and emergency breakdown repairs

  • Work independently at customer sites and maintain accurate documentation

  • Travel to various locations for repairs and maintenance


Requirements


  • Experience in forklift or plant machinery repair (essential)

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge

  • Familiarity with engines and batteries

  • NVQ/City & Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)

  • Full UK driving licence
